I have some patches to add to this plugin and am interested in doing further development work on it. The patches I have are to add a config option to disable mousewheel zoom of the map, and to allow it to work automatically with both https:// and https:// sites. How do I go about getting added to the list of committers?

  • We tried contacting the plugin author recently and received no reply, unfortunately. Our site is heavily dependent on this plugin and we’d be happy to beta test any changes if that helps? We may be able to work together on keeping this plugin viable?

We just moved over to HTTPS last week, and had to change links manually. Unfortunately, it’s stopped working today with a http referer invalid response. That’s on our main server as well as a test that’s still http and without our little plugin hacks to get to work.

We also had a route profile plugin developed by the original author that we can throw in the pot (presumably as we paid for the development?). Though it doesn’t work as intended any more!

I’d be more than happy to work together on this, and I’d be really glad of some Beta testing.

I’ve found the OS API key database to be rather sluggish. If I make any change then after a while it gives referer errors, then some (or many) hours later it syncs up and starts working again. I’m still unclear whether the API key needs separate entries for http and https access, but it would be good to clear that up and add some FAQ entries to the plugin page to explain.

That’s great! If you dm/pm me we can discuss over email.

I had to change my keys to HTTPS when I changed over last week if that helps.

The sluggish API database is probably to blame for the issues we had today as it worked a few hours later. The only change I did in the meantime was to delete the API keys for the http site..

PM sent via the mudandroutes website a couple of days ago.

I would also be interested in doing some beta testing of any wordpress plugin that helps support openspace better. I’ve been using this one for many years and it’s quite frustrating at times. Like mudandroutes I’ve just switched one site to https and had problems.

If you still need assistance, reach out via my website: lonewalker.net or via twitter: @lonewalkeruk

Sorry, forgot to mention – you do need separate entries in your Openspace for http and https – there’s a radio button to select when you add a new URL

Hi, I also use this on all my posts over at hillexplorer.com, and would be interested in beta testing any new version. An elevation profile added to the addon would be extremely beneficial, and would bring it alongside existing addons that use openstreetmap. Cheers

Same here. BTW I found that the update to 1.3.1 totally killed my website. Will have a look at the logs to find out more…

Hi Roddy, sorry to hear 1.3.1 is crashing. There was a problem with 1.3.0, but I’ve obviously missed something else. If you can send the relevant bit of the server log that would be great as I’d like to get this fixed ASAP. You can PM to simon at {the website domain shown in my profile}.

Hi Simon – my bad! The problem was indeed 1.3.0 but by the time I’d worked out where the problem was the 1.3.1 update had magically arrived ?? All fine now…

My blog’s sadly been neglected for a while but this page has an example of I’ve been using the plugin in the past. https://butnoidea.co.uk/2014/06/04/return-to-the-rhinogs/

Well that’s a relief! Thanks for getting back and confirming that.

Great photos on your Rhinog walk. You need to get out there again ??
