[Plugin: Digg Digg] Twitter Button URL Shorten?

Does the twitter button have URL shortner function? When others tweet my post I see a full url in the tweet like this mysite.com/2012/05-… Isn’t there a way to use the official tweet button with URL shortner? I can’t seem to find it.
