[Plugin: Disqus Comment System] Disqus Comments Show up in Dashboard, not on Site

I’m having the same issue.

I’m getting a 403 on the javascript call from disqus:
GET https://justb-live.disqus.com/embed.js?pname=wordpress&pver=2.72 403 (FORBIDDEN)

Jason —?The Disqus code isn’t even being output in the source for that post. This may be caused by a conflict with your theme or another plugin. Try temporarily reverting to the default WP theme. If that doesn’t resolve this, try temporarily disabling all plugins (except Disqus) too. Let us know what you find.

This 403 bug is back. Or at least, it is showing up on my blog since I installed Disqus a few weeks ago.

Jeremy, can you provide more details? What specifically is 403ing?

A 403 error is a Google crawl error. On Google Webmaster tools, it lists the crawl errors on your site. This is my number 1 error, as I have it on ever single one of my posts and pages. Google lists it as vital to fix.

It basically is a “page not found” error.

As it turns out… my errors are actually 404.

Jeremy, please include specific links to what is 404ing and the last time Google reported it as 404ing.

It gets reported by Google every single day on pretty much every post.

The error is part of this script:

the code above comes from “viewing sourcecode” and it appears that the WordPress plugin I am using is not properly outputing the Disqus shortcode and therefore, the URL is wrong.

We have a fix in place for that in the next plugin update: https://github.com/disqus/disqus-wordpress/commit/960fb3c7f27899f292a4ef03b523124f1c373cc3

We’ll be updating the plugin soon which will alleviate this issue; no further action is necessary on your end. Thanks Jeremy!

Well, this crawl error was gone for a while, and now it is back. Same as before. It is showing up in my Google Webmaster tools crawl error page as a 404 not found.

I am having the same error on my sites – just yesterday I got the error 404 for embed.js?pname=wordpress&pver=2.74 (site is https://www.offbeatattractions.co.uk in case you need to see the source code)

Is there anything we can do to fix this?

Me too! It doesn’t seem very severe, I only get one instance of this, but it’s on all my pages. Exactly the same 404 as reported by Jeremey and mfacer.
