[Plugin: Disqus Comment System] How to remove "Powered by Disqus" from footer.

You may be able to do that via CSS. Can you provide a link to your site?

The plugin loads in an IFrame and I don’t know how I can accomplish this using css? I’v no concerns with the backlink to Disqus website I just want to hide it. Turning it into a hidden link.

Looking at it with Firebug and trying it out on my test installation, I’d hoped this would work but doesn’t.

   display: none;
}

Which is probably good too, that CSS isn’t very specific.

It’s like they don’t want people to disguise the fact that you’re using their comment system. ??

You need to update your plugin immediately if that’s the case.

I don’t use your plugin and don’t know what’s going on, but if it’s adding an external link on the front end that can’t be removed, it is violating www.ads-software.com plugin repository guidelines.

I will report this on behalf of the users here if it is not addressed immediately.

The plugin must not embed external links on the public site (like a “powered by” link) without explicitly asking the user’s permission. Any such options in the plugin must default to NOT show the link.

Justin, this has been deemed okay becuase it’s a link on their website, not in the part of the plugin on your site.

Basically you’re connecting to the Disqus API as a service, and it’s all running on their end. In the interests of disclosure (among other things), the powered by link was allowed. if you want, I can go get Otto or Mark to explain it better, but we went over it, and decided in this case it was permissible.

Do you guys plan on offering an actually affordable solution to syncing Disqus with Buddypress? (Or a free one since it really should be)
