Plugin Does Not Work, Leads to 400 Bad Requests

  • I have a clean WP install with a Twenty Sixteen theme. I enabled the plugin.
    Now, when I go to the site I see the login screen. I put in the correct password and submit, the page goes nowhere.
    Eventually, I see a
    400 Bad request
    Your browser sent an invalid request.

    I tried other themes and have disabled all other plugins.
    Is the problem b/c WP is installed in a subdirectory?

    Any ideas?!?
