Plugin Does Not Work On My Site

  • I have downloaded this to my site on suggestion by the theme’s makers. I do not have a live viewable link at the time, but can set you up with an account that would let you look at it. My theme is from VisualModo, it comes with several plugin’s, including WPBakery and such. Did not find anything in that plugin or others related to Excerpts for post. Which is part of the reason I was lead to your plugin (which, by the way, shows its not been updated in a while).

    On my home page, I have a section that is supposed to show Excerpts from post and it does that, along with the shortcodes added by WPBakery, such as the following that is from a test post:

    I am in need of stripping those shortcodes out of the Excerpt only. Thanks in advance.

    If the theme maker’s suggested the plugin I guess they tested it and it worked for them. So it might be some theme option that’s interfering. Can you ask them if it works for them?

    Does the plugin make no difference to the excerpts in the blog posts listing or does it make a difference but doesn’t do what you need it to do?

    In any case, I will need to see the website (the page where the posts are located), it will give me valuable info.

    But we can’t ask for or accept any login information, it is against the rules and can result in our account being banned. We can only ask for a public URL to the website.

    They only suggested this plugin and another one, not sure if they actually ever got it to work. I may have found a temporary work around, but it actually keeps me from shot the excerpts on the home page, so people can read it. You can view what I am talking about at the original development site location, https://cc.adrt.us If you scroll down towards the bottom of the page, you will see a heading Our News and Updates and right below that is the excerpts from the post’s, were you will see the shortcodes listed. If you go to the actual post page, it shows correctly, if you do a search for post it does not show the excerpts at all, only the title of the post.

    Since all you need is to get rid of those shortcode, the simplest solution to the problem would be to use custom excerpts.

    So instead of the first part of the content being used as an excerpt, the custom one you add will show up.
