I have a notification set for any new post that is created. All members of the site get a notification of this post.

However, since there are many users, we occasionally get a timeout.
It looks like this plugin doesn’t implement a queue to tackle such occasions.
Is there a plugin/addon you recommend to handle such timeouts?

    Thanks, Jory

    Hi @keraweb,
    Thanks for your message.

BNFW doesn’t have a queueing mechanism but there are two ways you could manage this:

    1. Use the BCC field for all the users instead of the Send To field. This will send a single notification with the caveat that you won’t be able to personalise it to each user. You’ll still need to add a single user, such as the site admin, to the Send To field.
    2. Increase the PHP timeout on the server or upgrade to a faster/larger server.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi @voltronik

While BCC isn’t optional it’s our best shot for now.
I guess an actual email queue would be a separate plugin then.

    Cheers, Jory

    Hi @keraweb,
    No problem.

Yes, a mail queue could work. Something like this might be a good starting point: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/smtp-mailing-queue/
