• In the beginning the plugin worked fine. I have 101 subscribers right now. The templates and notifications options are just great.

Then it started to send out my Newsletter twice to the same people.

Cron job does not work either. Support does not respond and when they do, they do not come with a any substantive response about the error message I repeatedly get. The only thing they did was thanking other people on the forum who tried to help me.

The only thing I want is support that takes me seriously. I would like their plugin to work fine for me. Then I will eventually upgrade to the paid version (at least, that was the plan). But I am not going to waste my money.

Right now this plugin harms my business and I’am afraid I must search for another plugin that has good support. I told this all on the forum too, to no avail so far…

Still no substantive response from support. It’s been almost 4 weeks now. They keep not responding.

Is there a possibility to give zero stars since even one star seems way too much?

Thank God I haven’t bought the premium plug-in right away when installing it in the very beginning a year ago. I would have lost my money.

    Not really.

You do know that you are not a customer and are a free user of a free open source plugin, right?

You can leave 1 star reviews, that is permitted. But please consider checking your entitlement. No author here is obligated to even give you a reply. Support is performed here by volunteers.

    Hello @jdembowski,

Yes, I’m very much aware of the fact that I’m not a customer (although I stated more than once that I intended to become a customer) and that I’m (I was) a free user. But that’s still no excuse for ignoring a user 4 weeks long, no matter what.

Developers who want to attract new customers and have a free version of the plug-in they sell (hoping it will eventually people have upgrading to the paid version), should give proper support too.

I’m not talking about a couple of days or maybe 1 or 2 weeks of taking time to respond. I’m talking about ignoring me more than 4 weeks without any substantive reponse. Being a volunteer is not a permit to ignore people. Period.

I deleted this plug-in from my website and I’m using MailChimp right now.

Unfortunately, I will not change my entitlement.

Try to avoid the @ notification abuse. That’s a form of spamming and can be turned off by a moderator moving an account into a flagged state.

I deleted this plug-in from my website and I’m using MailChimp right now.

Great! I’ll close your support topics then with this plugin as your problem has come to a conclusion.

But that’s still no excuse for ignoring a user 4 weeks long, no matter what. Developers who want to attract new customers and have a free version of the plug-in they sell (hoping it will eventually people have upgrading to the paid version), should give proper support too.

Yes, it is. Seriously, such entitlement. What part of “No author here is obligated to even give you a reply” was unclear to you?

See, this site is no one’s market place and your sense of entitlement isn’t appropriate. You are not owed anything and the reply of “I intended to become a customer” is meaningless in this context. That’s frankly, a dog whistle.

It is great that plugin and theme authors are permitted to upsell in these forums as we all want people to be successful, including free users. But that doesn’t change anything and you are still not owed a thing from volunteers helping you on their own time.

As I’ve written, 1 star reviews are allowed. But people do read them and the replies. They’ll get your entitlement as well as the author’s good reply here.

No Jan, it’s not. I simply don’t agree with you. It’s all a matter of treating each other decently. The fact that we are writing in a support forum on the Internet doesn’t make that different. Ignoring me for more than 4 weeks, while I have been asking for help more than once, is rude behaviour. No matter what you say. The Internet is not a license for that kind of treatment.

Since I guesss you will not agree with me, let’s agree to disagree on this.

Right, and you are insisting that people treat you special. OK then.

Since I guesss you will not agree with me, let’s agree to disagree on this.

Now we have something to agree about. Why drag this out? I’ll close it on this note: no one is entitled to make volunteers do anything for them. You don’t see that then I suggest you start volunteering too.
