  • Thanks for quick action @vaakash

Note here too – updated code shortcoder.php does not work with nested shortcode (shortcode within shortcode)

    All,

Since shortcodes placed in widgets can be edited easilyat one shot, the fix provided will work only for posts/pages.

    Hi,

When I enter the code in functions.php, my website breaks down and give a 500 error.

Entering the code in shortcoder.php is OK and seems to solve the problem for desktop. On mobile the shortcodes still don’t work.

Am I doing something wrong here?

    Thanks!

Thanks a Lot @vaakash for your response. You earned it!

Hello, I confirm that Shortcoder don’t work anymore on WP4.4, the workaround [sc:your-shortcode] must became [sc name=your-shortcode] to be resolved on site.
Hope that the future updates will not break the way that shortcodes need to be inserted. Since it works with name= I suggest letting only this one and in the php files doing a function to replace sc: with sc name= in the database.
Thanks a lot, great plug-in for repetitive pieces of text or html on sites.

Hi @vaakash, a couple quick questions:

    1. Do you plan on updating this plugin, or just sharing fixes as bugs arise?

    2. Do you see the [sc: syntax ever coming back, or will a new version of the plugin only support [sc name="", as WordPress no longer encourages colons in shortcodes?

Thanks again for your great work on this. There’s a reason so many people depend on Shortcoder.

This workaround isn’t working on one of my sites. I’ve tried @vaakash original code in both functions.php and in shortcoder.php, I’ve tried changing the structure via PHPMyAdmin to the [sc name=””] syntax, and they all give the same result. I get this error:

Warning: array_key_exists() expects parameter 2 to be array, boolean given in /wp-content/plugins/shortcoder/shortcoder.php on line 111

I’m testing this on the staging site. See the error here: https://ecoverage.staging.wpengine.com/renters-insurance-guide/

Any thoughts on this? Looking forward to the updated plugin.

    Thanks!

Thanks Aakash! I’ve been using Shortcoder for a long time, currently there are more than 2.000 posts with shortcodes and it would be a big problem if I had to change them.

I used the plugin “Search & Replace” to replace
    [sc:
    with
    [sc name=

and all of my entries/shortcodes now appear to be working. I had over 500 so this was a real timesaver.
