[Plugin: Duo Two-Factor Authentication] Can't log in anymore

yeah, the plugin doesn’t seem to work at all since 3.4

No additional information on the WP login page – just the normal user/pass.

We have tested the plugin on a number of WordPress 3.4 installs and haven’t run into this issue.

One thing to check is that your server time is correct. We recommend using NTP for this. You can also contact your hosting provider and they should be able to help.

I am having the same problem. I just installed this plugin today. I am using the latest version of WP.

The first time I login after installing the plugin it works fine. After that as soon as it says I successfully logged in it goes back to the login screen. Attempting to go to any admin URL directly takes me back to the login screen and my login tracking plugin says that I am logging out at those times.

So… what now?

We have seen this exact issue with a few users recently, and in every case, it has been resolved by simply re-synchronizing NTP.

Have you confirmed that your system has NTP installed, and that time has been synchronized with an authoritative public time source, such as 1.pool.ntp.org?

If you have NTP installed on your linux server, you should be able to verify synchronization like this:

$ sudo ntpdate 1.pool.ntp.org
 4 Sep 17:56:11 ntpdate[2358]: step time server 50.116.38.157 offset 0.576935 sec

If you are setting this up on a windows server, it requires a bit more work to get time via NTP. You can find this in the following Microsoft KB article:

If your WordPress site is in a shared hosting environment, you may need to talk to your hosting provider to have them ensure NTP is installed and in sync for you.
