    Hi

This was mention in a previous thread but I figured that I will give it another buzz. Not sure if it is possible or not, but the option to duplicate a site off a multisite install to a standalone install would be amazing. Right now it still leaves the multisite lines in wp-config.php and it grabs the whole database not just the sites database when it copies over. It will take some mysql ninjistu to accomplish but it is probably not that bad.

Thanks for the great work on this essential plugin!

  • It does look like however, that if you install on a multisite deployment and then create a package from the base site, you get the whole shebang. This has great potential as a simple backup system .. now, if the package creation could be automated… ??? .. say, run from a cron job? Or scheduled right in the plugin itself..

You’re definitely on to something here!

    thanks,

    Jim

    Hey guys,

Awesome suggestions! I have definitely considered both and will probably implement them in upcoming versions. ??

Have you looked at the WP Multisite Replicator by WP ebooks? It might do what you are needing.

Thanks for the pointer to that!! It doesn’t address the backup solution we are trying to implement but it a major time saver for another issue — we run a website for a major sports team and have individual sites for their hall of fame members — these follow a template but of course by default, lighting up a new site just gives you a raw install .. being able to carry along a theme, menus, pages and widgets cut setup time per site by 75%.

The “Add Clone Sites for WPMU (batch)” plug in worked well for me, and it’s free! https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/add-cloned-sites-for-wpmu-batch/

    Hey guys,

So… any news on WPMS support yet?

    Hey guys,

    Just a friendly reminder…

    Hey RavanH and Marikamitsos,

Thanks for the reminders ?? Here is an update. WPMS is still on the todo list, but a bit lower down because of the time involved. I still have people marking the plugin as not working, so I’m trying to get all these items patched and tested first. The highest priority right now is getting the plugin to work in all the various server environments with solid accuracy.

I did a bit of research on WPMS and its a more involved than I thought. I may be getting some additional developer help with the efforts later this year, but that is still up in the air. Of course this is just a side project so things still move pretty sloooww… I would love to do it full time, but it doesn’t pay well ??

Once I get the project to a really stable state I’ll start to really dig into the the WPMU code-base.

It looks like jbin was using the WPMU Batch plugin. Did that plugin offer any help with the migration efforts?
