    I have default template and the plugin installed and activated. I’m running everying fromm a test wamp server locally. I did install a number of other plugins which do similar with sanme facybox script but after ready some where they might class I have deactived all of them. However try as I might cant figure out how to get this to work.

    I’ve looked a number of pages on this and facybox but I must just missing the obvious if some one could point me in the right direction.

    Thanks I’ve read that but I’m still lost I must be missing the obvious. do I not need to add a line of code for this to work in my page?

    <a href="https://test/test.jpg" title="test image">
    	<img src="https://test/test.jpg" alt="" /></a>

I have already been through that and maybe I’m its cause I’m not use to wordpress of just that I’m being really thick but I just don’t get it

    Right worked it out it was another widget which was stopping it. Not sure why and I really need to start learning wordpress better.

    Now All I have to do is understand how to change the look of popup can this be done per popup or is this done the same for each one and if so I guess I need to use one of the other fancybox plugins

    Widget or plugin? Can you share which one it was that blocked the fancybox script?

    What exactly do you have in mind? FancyBox should automatically adapt to the image size (unless they are all bigger than the viewport, in which case it’s the images that will be scaled down to fit… You can manage options like default sizes, transition effects and title position for different content types on your Settings > Media page. Other options like overlay style, buttons and other stuff are global.

    Or do you want for example different shades or levels of transparency of the overlay per image? This is not possible…

    Thanks for the reply I had Wp-photo installed and this caused the issue. Having played with the settings more I’ve been able to make it look much better. Though I’m right in thinking that this plug-in in opens any photo and does not allow to choose which ones.

    I’ve also notice that on the default theme it popup behind the image in header bar not sure if this will happen on the theme I going to be using.

    I really want to find the best way to add a shopping cart to the gallery of photos I was thinking it would be nice if I could add a button on each picture or at least a way to select that item. in thumbnails behind I’m going to put shopping cart set-up on the right so some way of link this in would be great but I’ve yet to look at which works best

    You can control which photo is displayed in fancybox in one of either two ways (you will have to edit your posts/pages in the HTML tab and know how link tags and attributes are formed) :
    A. Disable the auto-detection feature by clearing the auto-detection extensions field on Settgins > Media and then giving links that you want opened in fancybox the attribute class=”fancybox” or…
    B. Leave auto-detection as it is and give links a class=”nofancybox” attribute.

    The issue of header image of Twenty Eleven going over FancyBox is known. A work-around can be found here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/plugin-easy-fancybox-fancybox-popout-under-menuheader?replies=7

    To add a button to the title area of each image, you could try adding code for it to the field “Alternate Text” for a thumbnail…
