[Plugin: Edit Author Slug] Users can not edit their profiles

    After I upgraded to 0.8 the users can not update their profiles if they are not administrators. They get an “An author slug cannot be blank” error when trying to edit/save their profile. And they do have an author slug. I had to downgrade to 0.7 to make it work again. These users don’t have (and should never have) access to modify the slugs themselves.

    And also: I posted this in the contact form of your site. It was very questionable if the form went through or not. The message after posting was very unclear.

    You’re right that users shouldn’t have access. It has always been designed that way. However, it was requested by people to have that ability, so I added functionality to allow it, but the site admin would have to be very intentional. There is likely an error somewhere that’s allowing the form to be processed even though it’s not being shown. I’ll have to look into this. I never received a message from the form. I’ll have to look into that also.

    I’ve fixed the contact form issue. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

    I have also tracked down the issue preventing users from updating their profiles. I will push out an update tonight. It’s a simple fix, and a stupid oversight on my part. Thank you both for bringing it to my attention.
