[Plugin: Editorial Calendar] broken in 3.1?

Thank you for using the calendar. I’ve updated four blogs to WordPress 3.1 with the latest version of the calendar and haven’t seen any problems. However, a couple of people have mentioned this issue. Most of those issues were caused by a conflict with another plugin.

Have you upgraded or installed any plugins recently?

not since the wordpress update – I actually used the calendar the night before the update… which plugins created the problem?

We’ve seen issue with a few different plugins. I would start by disabling plugins that deal with dates or times.

I don’t really think it has anything to dow ith dates – it’s the drag and drop that is broken, as in it does not work, you don;t even get the drag cursor.

I found the conflict: it is with File Gallery (https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/file-gallery/changelog/)

Editorial Calendar was updated more recently, so it is the one that created the conflict. Additionally, like I said, the issue did not appear until the recent WP3.1 update.

I have this same problem. Everything works properly except the drag and drop feature. I do get the drag cursor, but instead of picking up the post, it highlights the text.

I have no plugins that deal with dates or times – could you post a list of plugins that you’ve seen problems with so far?

I found a culprit ….

After deactivating all of my plugins and trying them one by one, The Extra User Details plugin seemed to cause the problem.

With no other plugin activated, there’s still a problem with the entire page being selected as you drag and drop, but the drag and drop feature does work properly. After a post is dropped in the new location, the selection disappears.

here’s the thing – we can go disabling all the other plug-ins that we’ve been using, or the makers of the editorial calendar plugin can correct the problem they introduced.

I’m sorry it took me a while to respond. I wanted to make sure what was going on. There are some times when other plugins will introduce JavaScript that conflicts with the Editorial Calendar. Most of the time there isn’t much the calendar can do about it except contact the creator of the other plugin.

WordPress 3.1 made a change to the way JavaScript is loaded on the calendar page which made these conflicts more likely. I have released version 1.3.3 of the calendar which loads the JavaScript a little differently and will hopefully fix this issue.

Thanks for the update. It has corrected the issue.

I am using also WP 3.1 and I cannot get the calendar to work at all. On top of its page appears a message box saying “undefinedundefined” and that is it; no calender or dates visible at all. I suspect a problem with another plugin, but I did not find anything so far ??

I start to suspect that this problem is caused by using the CDN Cloudflare. It installs a script through Viglinks, which is located at the HTML header top. Other sites I am running, as well as my localhost test sites do not show this script and there the calender works just fine. I will send a help request to Cloudflare to see if they know about similar cases.

Update on Viglinks script: I confirmed that it is posted on each site through Cloudflare, but I managed to switch it off, though this did not help.
I switched off ALL plugins except the calendar, but still it does not work ??

Thank you for using the Editorial Calendar. I’m sorry you’re having trouble with it.

Problems like this are often caused by a problem in the JSON data that is sent between the server and the browser. This is normally caused by a conflict between the calendar and another plugin, but removing the other plugin normally fixes the issue.
