ajaypatel_aj, I never figured this out and gave up trying to use this plugin. The developer’s website says that you should be able to e-mail groups based on roles.

I did try the plugin Emu2 – Email Users 2. It did allow me to e-mail groups based on roles, but unfortunately it didn’t really match my needs either. Sorry, I can’t be of more help.

Wondering the same thing myself I’m guessing that the users have to opt to recieve e-mails in their WordPress Profile settings. Obviously this being a terrible thing for what I needed, I’m doing it the old fashion way and shift highlighting the users. Not ideal, but being the lightest e-mail plugin I’ve found; it’s going to have to work for now.

Just installed this plugin and I think I found the answer to your questions. Before you send an e-mail to a group, you must first select users to be subscribed to that group. Go to Email Users – User Settings. Now select all users that you want to subscribe and choose action “mass email on”. you will see the right column change Mass Email from NO to YES. Not sure yet what the Notification option does, I have this plugin installed for 5 minutes now.

Next step is to go send mail to group. You will see that a group is created with the name “Role – Subscriber”. This group contains the users with Mass Mail set to Yes. Select group, create mail and send. I guess that is the idea…

    FWIW!

As the poster above noted, users must have the options in their profile enabled in order to receive mail. Once you have at least one user who will receive mail, the “Roles” which that user is a member of will appear in the Groups list.

Version 4.0.0 added the ability to do bulk level user subscription management.
