Do you mean the “Subscriber” role doesn’t show up in the list of roles to choose from?

I want a simple feature – once a user subscribe on the blog he should get an email when ever I add a post. which is not happening currently, I tried sending email to the subscribed user – though it says email sent the user is not receiving the post. Do let me know if there is any step i have missed out.

    Sounds like two problems:

    1. Subscribe to Blog is not functionality supported by Email Users but is available in WordPress.com’s JetPack plugin. You have to enable the Subscriptions feature once you have JetPack installed, it isn’t turned on by default. Once turned on it adds some new options to a user’s profile.
    2. What version of Email Users do you have installed? There was a bug which was fixed in 4.3.10 which only happened on some servers when sending email to a single user. The “To:” portion of the header wasn’t constructed properly so the intended user never received the email. This problem didn’t happen on every server but was affecting one site I work with which runs on IIS. If you are running a version of Email Users earlier than 4.3.10, please update and see if the problem persists.

    Hope that helps.

Hi, I have a similar problem. I publish a post every day, and usually the email subscription settings work just fine. Today, however, for some reason, no email went out to my subscribers alerting them to the fact that a new post was published. I have the jetpack subscriptions settings enabled. Please help!

If you’re having problems with JetPack, you need to post those questions on the JetPack Support forum.

Email-Users lets you actively notify your users of a new post or page on your site by choosing the “Notify Users” menu which appears by default in the upper right hand corner of the Edit Post and Edit Page screen. You can also do it from a menu under Posts or Pages and select the Post or Page you want to notify users about but notifications do not happen automatically like they do with JetPack.

I think you’re problem will be addressed with this JetPack update.
