My client has a small florist. As it is only a small shop she can only offer delivery in her local area, and the delivery cost needs to change based on postcode.
So for example, an order from the following UK postodes will be £5: AB1, AB2, AB3, AB4

And orders from the remaining UK postcodes will be £10 delivery:
    AB5, AB6, AB7 etc…

Any postocde which is not in the area (AB in this example) can not place an order.

Is this possible to do using zones etc? Or is there another way of doing this?

  • There’s nothing in the core plugin that allows for delivery/ordering based on postcode. The only thing I can suggest is that she either limits the list of counties to her own county. Or she creates a list of pseudo counties that are, in reality, her list of designated postcodes.

Both of these can be done via eShop -> Shipping -> County/State/Province.

Thanks for such a quick reply. Going to go down the route of adding each Postal Area as a state.

Is it possible to change the text the user see’s on the Checkout page? So where it says State/County/Province* (with the dropdown box underneith) would it be possible to change that text to say “Postal Area”?

Yes. See Change Displayed Text in the eShop Wiki.

Great thank you. One last question, is there a way to display all of my products on one page? My shop only has 12 products and I would like to display them all on my View Products page, but there doesnt seem to be a shortcode for this on https://quirm.net/wiki/eshop/setting-up-using-eshop/shortcodes/

EDIT: Nevermind, I managed to solve this.
