[Plugin: eShop] Download link option…

  • I had a question about downloadable producsts. I wanted to know except for hosting the downloadable file is there anyway to have an external link be the download?

    And also if a product is free is there anyway to where the person wouldn’t have to be directed to paypal or fill out all the information?

  • External downloads – currently no.

    free products – eShop isn’t the best option for free products – though yo could use the ‘Cash’ option for that.

    I’ve set up the plug in and set up a test account with PayPal Sandbox. I’ve gone through the steps to make a purchase for a downloadable product, everything worked with PayPal and it shows the transaction occurred, but I get redirected to a thank you page and not the download I was test buying. Am I doing something wrong or will a real purchase take me to the download? Thanks for any help you can provide.

    If the order is marked as successful(active or shipped) on the eShop orders page then everything was fine. Te download link will have been sent via email. Paypal is often not fast enough for the details to be displayed on the thank you page – but if it is then a link is displayed.
