• Hi. Would it be best to use posts or pages for the products? The site I’m building doesn’t have any blog functionality (although I may use Posts for news items – will add them to News category and products would go in Catalogue category). If there are a 100 products or so Pages might become a bit of a chore in the Admin side (there’s no filtering method) whereas Posts can be filtered in the Admin side when it comes to editing detail. I think I’ve convinced myself to use Posts but if anyone has any input I’d be greatful.
    Regards, Edward

Most of the shortcodes were really designed for pages, so by using posts you lose some functionality – but not much.

Yes the pages can’t be filtered like posts, but products are static items, and are more suited to pages IMO.

It’s that missing functionality I’m concerned about. The post filtering will help enormously with maintenance(editing prices etc). Also, I can add categories to the posts (more than one, as well) so I can have a Sale category and then show Posts from that category on, say, the Home page along with the Featured items.
I’m now thinking that if I used Pages I could have different templates for different ‘ranges’ within the product list (say a Mens wear and Ladies wear). Another decision to make…..
Good to see you’re in the UK as well

Have you decided on posts or pages?
