Manually entering in the content for each page is barely more usefull than going to the Google charts website (https://imagecharteditor.appspot.com/) and generating a QR Code for each URL.

The Esponce API seems to offer a lot more control and options than Google’s API, but if there isn’t a way to make the QR Code, dynamically generated with each page, the Esponce WordPress Plugin is pretty useless.

When I put your Widget in my sidebar, I should be presented with an option to automatically generate a QR Code, using the current page’s URL.

When I add a QR Code for TinyMCE, it should auto populate with the URL of the current page, or at least have a setting to allow the QR Code to be auto-generated.

Thank you for all suggestions. We have upgraded the plugin – widget supports permalinks since version 1.3. TinyMCE feature is more complex to implemented so we’ve dropped it in this version.

@esponce – This change is a HUGE improvement and was enough for me to elect to use it. However, there are still some pretty big UI options, I don’t see. To make this plugin more competitive to other WordPress QR Code plugins, there are several more things I’d suggest.

In the “QR Code by Esponce” widget, for Instance:

    • There needs to be a way to align the QR Code Image. The QR Code Image is aligned to the left, by default, but doesn’t have an option to center or align to the right.
    • The “Module Size” option needs to create QR Codes, that are the same size, throughout the whole website. Compare the size of the QR Code, generated on my Search Engine Optimization Page to my Search Engine Optimization Category and finally to one of my Search Engine Optimization Post. The QR Code generated for the preview of a draft post, is even smaller yet. The same widget is used on all these, with the “Module Size” set to 5 and “Padding” set to 0, yet the size is different on every one of these.
    • There needs to be a way of defining the alt tag and title tag options for the QR Code (maybe even include a dynamically assigned title, via a combination of shortcode and text.
    • The Widget UI should be more similar to the TinyMCE UI.

There needs to be a way to align the QR Code Image…

    Done, both widget and shortcode.

The “Module Size” option needs to create QR Codes, that are the same size, throughout the whole website…

Done, user can either enter module size in pixels or overall image dimensions as [width]x[height]. Note that both width and height values must be equal.

There needs to be a way of defining the alt tag and title tag options…

    Done, both widget and shortcode.

The Widget UI should be more similar to the TinyMCE UI.

UI issue fixed by including editor.css for WordPress version 3.4.1. Not sure if works with every theme.

I’m impressed! These are great UI improvements.

    Good Work!

I’m still seeing size changes though, in the QR Code. If you hop on to https://bamajr.com/ and click through the menu, you can see the QR Code change size. It isn’t as drastic as it used to be, but it still happens.
