    There is no way to show links in the excerpt.
    I think, if it is important to you to keep links in the exerpt, you can use some
    javascript.

    Or maybe there are other way , but.. What exactly do you want to do?

    Thanks for your response.

    My goal is always to take the visitor to the intended destination in the fewest amount of clicks. In this case, I want the visitor to click on “View Photos” (which is at the end of the excerpt) and links directly to the storefront (an external site), rather than the visitor clicking on the post title which takes them to the full post page.

    There is only one “Feature Event” at the same time?

    I think a practical solution could be to put a text-widget with a link under ev-widget-post.

    Currently there is only one featured event, but there may be more added.

    Your workaround would be OK for one event, but even then, the portion of the featured post excerpt that reads “View Photos” (which is a link in the post itself) would still show. You would end up displaying two lines that read “View Photos”, one in the excerpt portion, and one in the text widget. Not really a workable solution.
