[Plugin: Events Manager] 404 error when clicking on Event

I was able to add the event okay and enable bookings, and the EVENTS page shows up in the main navigation. When I click on it, it does bring up the event I added but when I click on it, I get the 404 Page Not Found error.
The permalink looks like this: https://bert.redcanoecu.com/index.php/events/event/relay-for-life-iq-challenge/
Does that look right? Should be be events/event? Where should I be looking to resolve this issue? Anyone have an easy answer? btw..it’s on an intranet.
