I’m working on a pretty simple network install of 3.4.1 and the latest version of Events Manager (just downloaded and installed).

On my main blog I can see the option for event categories, but not on any of my child sites. I am using global mode

Am I missing something? I’ve tried it with a fresh install of Twenty Eleven on main and child blogs to make sure it wasn’t any of my functions.

    Thanks for any help

  • using global table mode, you can create event categories only in your main blog but on subsite you can just choose event categories at “Site Categories” which you define in your main blog.

But this doesn’t populate any categories drop down on child sites and the child sites listing of categories links back to the parent site when you cick on them… Any way to fix that?

about “categories links back to the parent site”; actually this is normal because all events have to share the same categories it’s impossible to have inter-related taxonomies so they’re all managed on the main site and the structure is mirrored onto each subsite

can I know where is this “doesn’t populate any categories drop down” ?

In global mode, categories are just mirrored structures of the main site. It’s not possible (or efficient, as far as I could see) to do it another way if you want to share events across the network.
