[Plugin: Events Manager] German translations in worse state

these were doing using google translate, which should make it easier for translators to correct instead of starting from scratch.

if you send me your email via the plugin site contact form, I’ll add your corrections to the next update.

I actually have about 5 germans offering to translate, but I can’t chase every translator (esp. if you consider every language) up, so first submission will be first used.

… but where (in the plug-in settings) do I switch to to any of the other available languages? I’m interested in the german version.

you have to localize your wordpress by working on the wp-config.php and find the line that contains define('WPLANG', ''); and change to define('WPLANG', 'de_DE'); then save.

and if you find any wrong translation (on EM) you can correct it and share with us; here’s a tutorial to correct this https://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/translating/

Funny, just downloaded poedit to get involved, any time soon. Let’s see, if I can now understand the translations of the setti9ngs when in german (I have to search for a plugin that enables english on the backend, but german in the front end…)

Is there a better german translation? The text is a mixture of German and English. Self editing of language files is to complicated.

when someone submits one, I include it. problem is with new features and updates, there’s more texts and some old texts change.

Hmm….wold be cool, if there could be a delta file produced. n no time (e.g just 4 new sentences/word and 3 renamings) I or other germans could post the translations even here i the blog.
I don’t know how the current translators do the job, but parsing through the pages to spot something english and then going to the mod files….that would be overkill.

Normally, I update the pot file on updates so all you have to do is update your language po file from our pot file and then translate the new strings (often there are none).

if someone is planning on translating it, worth mentioning it here so others could collaborate or at least know to wait ??
