    Hello!

I had 4 single events with different date (2 events for 1 day and 2 events for 2 days, a weekend).

I have 5 recurring events with 60 times at all (5*12, til April every week the same 5 events).

I dint know exactly when, maybe 1 week after i posted all the events i made some change in all recurring events. And 1-2 days after i checked my events and single events got lost. One of the single events was posted by someone else with bookings. And even bookings got lost with the events.

The recurring events still there. Ah one more thing, the locations what were made for the single events exists, they are still there.

I checked the database but only recurring events there, no sign of the single events (except the locations table, where i found the single event locations)

I know, i must make events again, and apologize for the lost bookings, but i dont want this kind of malfunction again. Any idea why this happened or what happened?

    Thanks, Peter

P.s.: Im the admin of the site ??

I have a similar situation, although I don’t use the WordPress Database Backup plugin. All entries disappeared at once at our customer’s web site. Unfortunately I can’t send more info from our customer, because he can’t tell us any details.

But here’s some info from our side: The table wp_em_events was completely empty, so I’ve restored some entries manually from a previous backup. Then I’ve recovered the corresponding entries from the wp_posts table according to the post_id field. So now I see those events using the [events_list] shortcode, but the events list (wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=event) is still empty.

Something still seems to be missing, what could it be?

    (Thanks for this great plugin.)

I think I’ve fixed this…. at least for people with a specific situation. If you click to add a new event, and you notice all your events disappear right after that (all, not just some), then the latest dev version should fix this.

This was caused by a bug when deleting auto-drafts by wp (which wp does automatically when you create a new page/post/event/etc.). If you have a auto-draft of a recurring event, this can happen.

Now… this doesn’t mean WP Backup is causing another probable, since it’d be quite easy for a backup program to overwrite old changes.

I had the same issue, all events were deleted, probably creating a new page…
Anyhow, I don’t use WP backup and not even recurring events (they are disabled in General Options). So issue shouldn’t be caused by recurring events…
I try to upgrade to ver 5.1.2.

if it happens again from 5.1.2 onwards, bump this.

Thanks Marcus. It is now working for me.

Just one thing though – the posts that I did the other day don’t show, although they are in the database.

How do I get them to show?

    Thanks

did you try to check Settings > Pages > Event List/Archives > Are current events past events?

    @agelonwl
Just tried it now, doesn’t change anything and they still remain hidden

I see, can I also know the date range and if it is a recurring event?

    Hi.

I have this sorted now!!! For some reason they were all showing in the month of February and dates gone by! No idea why, I know for sure I did not enter them into Feb. Anyway, sorry about that, I have now managed to amend them and it’s looking fine.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated!

    that’s great.

I’ve also had this problem, and have no idea about where it does come from.
Events disappeared from em_events table as well, and just recurring ones stayed.

I have no backup plugin installed, however i’ll post a list of them:
WP Banner, CodeStyling Localization, Duplicate Post, MailChimp, WordPress Importer.

At the moment i’m running version 5.0.51 of Event Manager.

Do you have any suggestion about recovering events?
Should i install a backup plugin or is there a fix or any other solution?

    Thanks

I recommend doing regular database backups through your website hosting control panel with phpMyAdmin, etc. That way if any events disappear, you can restore the database from the backup.

As an update, we temporarily deactivated all non-critical plug-ins, including backup, for a couple of weeks. We saw no disappearing events, and have re-activated all the plug-ins. There’s no sign of problems so far (fingers crossed).

@snes86 UPGRADE! If you read the above posts you will see that the problem was fixed from 5.0.52 – the program is now on 5.0.53

I’m pleased to report that it’s been two weeks since I upgraded and there has been no issues with lost data in that time! ??

Thanks very much for your help Marcus!
