[Plugin: Export to Excel] Did not export the most important part, the post content!

    Hi

    Your plugin is extremely simple to use (with there being absolutely no settings for it at all) which is great, but it exported only the following information: Name, Url, Created on, Author, Categories, Tags, and that’s it.

    I tried it on both normal WP posts and custom taxonomy posts. It completely bypasses the most important part of all, the actual post content!

    Anyone else experienced this problem with the plugin? Any suggestions as to what’s going wrong?

    Hi,

    Thanks a lot for your feedback.

    Actually while creating plugin we felt that there is no need to include whole content in excel. That is why we didn’t include it.

    In our future release we are planning to give a selection box of options(Title, Content, Author…blah blah) where a user can choose any options.

    Any other feedback/suggestion is always appreciable.

    What is the point of an exporter if it doesn’t export the full post/page content? What use could anyone possibly have for an excel file that only has the post title, URL, author, date, tags, and category, but no content??

    Well the post content is important for certain purposes. In my case, the post content all contains pictures and actually this completely frustrates the process. The EXCEL file doesn’t even open because there’s so many pictures in it. The workaround is to change the default program and to open it with word and then blow out the content column copying and pasting the useful information back into an EXCEL table.

    Somebody asks why you would need post snippets with urls? For tweet adder and to make a list of tweets that get loaded into a .txt file and then uploaded into tweet adder and then auto tweeted.

    In any event, I am hoping this thing can have two options, can let you pick and choose what you would want exported or might have an option to omit pictures from the description. Please advise, thanks.
