When I click on the button Add New Videos from Channels, it shows the following error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function get_category() on a non-object in /home/navjot/public_html/videos/wp-content/plugins/external-videos/ev-video_sites.php on line 52

Using 0.6 version of plugin on WordPress 3.0 final version.

Please look into the bug and fix it.

One more observation..The videos do get imported. And next scheduled date always point to the Epoch date – January 1, 1970. It never points to the actual date/time for the cron.

Same problem on version 5 as well using 3.0 and lower

Fatal error: Call to a member function get_category() on a non-object in /home/toytoys/public_html/wp-content/plugins/external-videos/ev-video_sites.php on line 52

A shame as this looked really useful.

I have not been able to replicate that error. Can you let me know with which author you tried it, both Squillions and Navjot Singh?

I have put a safemark into the code for when the mediaRSS element from YouTube doesn’t exist, though I don’t really know when that can happen. Maybe with a user that doesn’t have any videos yet? Anyway, I need more information to debug this, in particular I need to be able to replicate the error!

FYI I got this error but discovered that when copying and pasting the youtube user name I inadvertently included a space at the end. Removing the space caused it to work as advertised.

Its only been about 20 minutes working with it but so far it’s an excellent plugin – Thanks Silvia!!

geo316 – that’s great feedback. I’ll add whitespace removal to the next release.
