mpiet, it’s slow because it’s loading from Facebook’s servers (where the comments are stored). There’s nothing I can do about it. My apologies.

It’s loading slowly here too. Not on the main page where the comments actually are, on my Blog page (just has a thumbnail linking to the article, where the comments are), any ideas why this could be?

It will probably be fixed when I start caching the comment counts in the next version. IF it’s too slow right now, just downgrade to v1.5.2. ??

It works great for me on posts etc but as soon as I have this plugin enabled, category pages load for more than a minute and it seems to kind of lock-up the server (as it doesn’t react to any requests during that category loading time). This happens only on category pages. Any ideas?

It’s because there’s a Facebook API request sent for every post on the page.

I have the next version finished on my laptop. I’m just testing it.

It caches all comment counts so that the API is only ever hit once per post. Every post on your site is cached when you activate the plugin as well (in the new version), so the end user should never experience lag.

Thanks Graham, looking forward to the next version.

using iframe to show the comments is the fastest way
