WordPress 3.1.1 and Facebook comments 3.1.
When activating the plugin, I get:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Fatal error: Uncaught exception ‘Exception’ with message ‘Facebook needs the CURL PHP extension.’ in /home/sucks/public_html/wp-content/plugins/facebook-comments-for-wordpress/scripts/facebook.php:4 Stack trace: #0 /home/sucks/public_html/wp-content/plugins/facebook-comments-for-wordpress/facebook-comments.php(34): require_once() #1 /home/sucks/public_html/wp-admin/plugins.php(149): include(‘/home/sucks/pub…’) #2 /home/sucks/public_html/wp-admin/plugins.php(151): plugin_sandbox_scrape(‘facebook-commen…’) #3 {main} thrown in /home/sucks/public_html/wp-content/plugins/facebook-comments-for-wordpress/scripts/facebook.php on line 4
So I did as stated in the FAQ: Check that cURL is installed. And I did, hostgator support has promised me that it is, and I ssh into the server and got:
[sucks@zerver /usr/bin]$ which curl
/usr/bin/curl
[sucks@zerver /usr/bin]$Re-installed the plugin. No dice. I’m stuck and hostgator.com is done helping me, their certain that it’s the plugins fault, not the server :-/
