• I keep getting the message “The comments plugin requires an application id to properly namespace the provided xid.” I’ve gone into the plugin settings and entered my Facebook id but it still isn’t working. What else should I do?

    Hi Sacatomato. An Application ID is different from your Facebook ID.

    You can go here to get one https://developers.facebook.com/setup/.
    You’ll also receive a secret key, which you’ll need if you’re using the current version of this plugin.

    It doesn’t matter what you call it, but make sure you put in the correct url for your site (e.g., example.com/blog).

    When you have problems, it’s a good idea to check here.

    Cheers

    you should check if there are any more facebook scripts included this other facebook applications. Try to remove line with script include. It helps me.

    @nerijuso I don’t understand.

    @shaun Thanks, but when I click on the facebook link it asks me to verify my account with a credit card or mobile. I mistyped the mobile and now can’t change it. Is this really necessary? There must be another way for a non-developer to get an xid and secret??
