Just tried to install this plug-in, and it broke WordPress. On activation, WordPress hung. Server log reports:

    PHP Fatal error: Wrong parameters for Exception([string $exception [, long $code ]]) in /var/www/vhosts/<domain>/httpdocs/blog/wp-content/plugins/facebook/includes/facebook-php-sdk/base_facebook.php on line 54, referer: <domain>/blog/wp-admin/plugins.php

Had to use FTP to delete the plug-in to get access to the Dashboard again.

I did have the Wordbooker plug-in, but deleted this after reading some other support threads saying that two FB plug-ins would conflict.

    Any advice appreciated…

  • HI i just got this also? Any ideas what this may be about? I’ve just been experimenting there – are you using multi site? I’ve just done a clean install without multi site and it worked then installed a network and it gives me this exception?

No idea what’s behind this. I have had a problem in the past with plug-ins that call other sites. I have to add the IP address of the target site to the server firewall… wondering if I may need to add a Facebook IP address to the firewall, but that’s a long-shot.

    Standard install of 3.3.2 – Not a multi-site.

FWIW – Other installed plug-ins are: After The Deadline, Akismet, All-in-One SEO, Feedburner Feedsmith, Google XML Sitemaps, WordPress.com Stats, WP to Twitter and WPTouch

Hmm thats really strange? I thought it was my multi site that was cuasing this – a brand new install! becuase i’ve done another brand new install and without multi site and its worked? I’ve deactivated all other plug-ins by the way in both of the above cases! I’ll update this thread if i figure it out!

The specific “Fatal error” was caused by a bug that was fixed in today’s release (v 1.0.2). This should only have been triggered when your server can’t connect to Facebook, however, and I can’t say what was causing that without more information. Try updating to the latest version of the plugin, and let us know if you continue to experience issues.
