• i am facing an authentication problem. I followed instructions to allow posting from wordpress to author timeline on facebook. I created the open graph action, then created a post on wordpress and went back to click submit on open graph action. I could not do it because I am not authenticated and therefore facebook is not recognizing the post as coming from me. so how do i authenticate myself

  • @matt Kelly

    Thanks for the information Kelly.

I hope the plugin will work with Yoast. BTW I was not using Yoast’s Social section and maybe the Official Facebook plugin will work if the Yoast’s Social section is not active.

I ll try it and confirm it here.

Yes I was correct. It worked with Yoast if Social Section is not used.
    It worked without any problem.

Users who have problem with Yoast should try and uncheck “Add OpenGraph meta data” on Social Section of Yoast SEO plugin.

    It should work

Put in some dummy instructions into the box and clicked submit. Now pending.

Posted and after enabling seemed to work.

But when I reenable Yoast SEO plugin, get the same URL error. That being said, it still posted to my Pages, even with error saying it could not. Don’t intend on deactivating Yoast SEO plugin, so I’ll just see how it goes.

Disabled Yoast “Add OpenGraph meta data” box as suggested. Tried to post and got the following message.

    Failed posting to BRUTSCHER LAW OFFICE’s Timeline. Error: {“message”:”(#100) caption parameter cannot be longer than 1000 characters.”,”type”:”OAuthException”}

I’m assuming this has something to do with the Photo caption. But it’s just another pain with this plugin. Might want to prompt me or mention this before I post.

I wrote a post and when I tried publishing it. An error came which says that token expired.
The plugin has issues and needs to be fixed.

there are a few questions about the ?pending? status not being answered yet. how long does it take for the app to be approved? is it approved by a computer or a human? how many of them are there?

i am sure that there quite a lot of users out there trying to use that plugin and if every single one of them has to wait for their app to be approved, it can take a while until that works for everyone.

has anyone actually got this plugin to work?

it took them about a week, and they of course rejected it.

I submitted the Action a week ago. I see Changes Need in RED over there.
    What it is ?

It is rejected but then how to make this plugin work. No one from Facebook is replying.

I am receiving the following (as several people are) error when trying to submit.

Built-in Action Types require that you provide instructions for using your app’s Open Graph integration as your Open Graph Test User in a functioning test environment. Failure to provide a functioning test environment will result in rejection of your Action Type.

Can someone please walk me through these steps, as I can find no instructions, and cannot even find where to enter the instructions.

I gave up on this plugin the same day I posted. Continuosly told me there was an error posting to Facebook, but it would show up on timeline. When I tried to enable the subscription button it would tell me I needed authentication and wouldn’t enable it, and finally the login to comment using your Facebook ID never would format correctly. It would show up on top of sidebar widgets.

The like button was the only thing that appeared to work correctly. I just use the twitter to Facebook and feed all my posts to twitter which feeds them to my Facebook page. Maybe in the future they will work the bugs out, but this is the most complicated plugin I have ever dealt with.

I’ve installed FB plugin 1.0.3 on a WP blog. I set up the app, the fb page and with my WP account as administrator I can publish articles to the FB page. Now, my problem is… I’ve just added a new user as an editor to WP, but when I log in with this new account, on the left menu I just have the FB insight tab. There’s no tab for FB plugin settings. When I post an article via this editor account it doesn’t show up on the FB page.
    Do I make something wrong?

    I’ve got the same problem.
Facebook plugin works perfectly with admin account but with editor’s account posts aren’t submited to facebook fanpage.
    Any ideas?
