  • Load times are in the multiple minutes in the admin page for me as well. I spent a *long* time trying to isolate conflicts with my other 3 plug ins til I realized, it’s just the Facebook plug that is killing it. It is also killing page load speeds on the blog itself. Literally multiple minutes loading a page if you’re logged in to Facebook. Page speed testing scripts are not affected by the grind.

Dedicated server, less than a thousand visitors a day, only one admin, it’s definitely not another app.

Same here. Super slow. So slow that php timeouts. I have to prolong timeout period to finish up setup process.

Even so, every time going to the Facebook plugin setting page in admin panel takes minutes.

Can’t use this version in my site.

This may be caused by your server not having PHP support for “curl”. Check and see if the curl module is available on your PHP configuration.

I had the same issue and had to deactivate it.

Same here. Super slow speeds. It’s putting lots of code into the theme and making redirects. I’m using total chache and a cdn and it’s still bogging down my site. I’m going to have to manually add in the code. Sad. I was really hoping Facebook was going to rock this plug in.

I’d like to use the recommendations bar and perhaps the like button but do not know how to manually parse out the code. I know how to edit my theme’s CSS and PHP but not which parts of the facebook plugin to extract.

    Pity.

The issue should have been resolved in today’s update, v 1.0.2. Please update the plugin and let us know if you continue to experience any issues.

I’m using v1.0.3 and I sometimes get php timeouts due to the slow speed. Often the plugin takes several seconds, sometimes >20, to display a single comment form on a simple page or post.

    Is this to be expected?
