    Hi there,

I jumped into a site I’m building at the moment and saw there was a pending YOAST SEO plugin update available. Upon updating it crashed the site and I have had to deactivate the plugin, it has been working recently up until this update.

This is the error code I get:
Warning: include(/www/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/vendor/composer/../../admin/class-yoast-alerts.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /www/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/vendor/composer/ClassLoader.php on line 444 Warning: include(): Failed opening ‘/www/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/vendor/composer/../../admin/class-yoast-alerts.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:/usr/share/php’) in /www/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/vendor/composer/ClassLoader.php on line 444 Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class ‘Yoast_Alerts’ not found in /www/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/wp-seo-main.php:459 Stack trace: #0 /www/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/wp-seo.php(48): require_once() #1 /wordpress/wp-admin/includes/plugin.php(2255): include(‘/www/wp-content…’) #2 /wordpress/wp-admin/plugins.php(177): plugin_sandbox_scrape(‘wordpress-seo/w…’) #3 {main} thrown in /www/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/wp-seo-main.php on line 459

You can also see the original error message here:

I haven’t seen anyone else reporting this issue yet, so it may very well be specific to this site however, it was working fine before the update and nothing new has been added to the site since then.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you
    Hugh

    Hi @xnichoh ,

We apologize for the inconvenience. Looking at the error, it looks like some files are missing from the installation. Can you please delete the plugin directory ( in /wp-content/plugins/ delete /wordpress-seo/) and re-install it?

While deleting the plugin file will not cause any data loss, because all your settings are stored in the database, we always recommend having a recent backup of your site for safety reasons.
