• I use jquery 1.7 in my theme.

When I activate the fancybox plugin it loads an instance of jquery from the “includes” folder into the header section.

Because fancybox loads this jquery, it breaks my floater/slider menu in my theme. Therefore, I can’t get fancybox to work.

If I edit the header section for my theme and remove my instance of jquery, I can get fancybox to work, but no floating/slider menu on my blog.

Is there a way to keep fancybox from loading jquery? I couldn’t find the “load” in the .php files.

  • I have a similar issue. I have installed FancyBox for wordpress in our blog, which is integrated into our website. Our problem is when fancybox is activated it stops our simple accordion menu from collapsing. So I think am having the same problem. Any assistance would be appreciated.

    I found and loaded :
    https://www.23systems.net/plugins/lightbox-plus/
and it works with the sliding menu at https://www.edparton.com/blog and has better lightbox options… I already tooled it up and reconfigured a bunch of stuff… lots of options to play with up-front and under the hood.

Seems to work well so far. I found out the some of the Plugins were to blame for the double jquery load. Like commentLuv and comment form… I kept activating and un-activating each plugin until I got my lightbox plus to work, my menu, and a decent comment option for guests and registered users… I still get a double jquery load… Doesn’t seem to slow my blog too much.

    Hope this helps.

I received an email suggesting Light Box Plus, also tried Colour Box and they all disrupt the simple accordion menu and stop it from collapsing. I assume its from the double loading of jQuery from what I am reading, but I do not know enough to change this.
