Installed this plugin and have set up two contact forms already – one for design inquiries, the other just a simple contact form. I see the settings page is pretty extensive, and also easy to understand. I guess instructions aren’t really inquired now that I see how it works.

By the way, this is the best contact form I’ve used yet. I originally had Contact Form 7, but I started getting spam messages through those forms and there was no security procedures in place. Also, the plugin developer wasn’t very forthcoming with replies in his support forum.

What security measures does this form utilize? Will it recognize and block spammers automatically,. or is this something I have to set myself? I notice in the FAQs that this form uses Akismet – is that enabled automatically?

Some of the security features are:
    1. CAPTCHA
    2. Does not allow posting from other domains
    3. Akismet support.
It checks the form input with Akismet, but only if Akismet plugin is also installed and activated. (Akismet is not required, it will just skip the check)

Akismet is automatically running with WordPress. Are you talking about some other Akismet plugin? One that comes with the form?

Yes Akismet is automatically running with WordPress. Make sure you have clicked on Plugins – Akismet Comfiguration and entered a WordPress.com API Key. Once you have done this, that is all that is needed, the contact form will use it to prevent spam.

To further clarify, the Akismet plugin is included with WordPress, but it is not activated by default.

Mine is running (I checked – API key is entered and valid). When I started my WP site I didn’t have to turn Akismet on, it was on already.
