[Plugin: FB Social Reader] Widget for Friends displayed

Hi Martin,

This will definitely be fixed in the latest version.

I personally think a brillant mind (Chris Houghton) can’t be arsed anymore about this very brillant idea called FB Social Reader. I have written to him but got no reply and he’s been off this forum for 7 months which is good enough indication of the future of FBSR.

Great concept – absolutely a good money maker if he had developed in this day and age of everyone trying to get exposure for their site BUT unfortunately talents like CH are an enigma to those of us without a slice of IT skills other typing a few keystrokes on the keyboard.

Please Chris, if you ever get to read this – don’t bin your idea and work and don’t leave many hopefuls to drown waiting (hopefully not in vain).

Yeah well I actually paid quite an expensive price for the Pro version which was more about future features and supporting the developer. Turns out the plugin Pro version just went out the window and became the this version.
The plugin was quite bug ridden and I needed to disable it eventually as I saw little value in what it gave. Support was slow, evidenced by this forum.
Good idea, rubbish result so while Chris might be good at code, the rest of what is needed to make a good plugin and business model failed miserably (in my opinion).
There are plenty of other ways to spread your content in a viral way so look around.

You certainly don’t sound very happy about your experience – I know this is not the idea forum to ask BUT every knowledge is valuable. Thanks very much for your message and your compliments on the plugin. Truth be told, I parked this project a while back as I was working ridiculous hours and simply didn’t have the time to work on it properly. Martin, this is the same reason I made the plugin free.

Your message has prompted me to take another look at this. Since I wrote it I’ve gained a huge amount of business and programming experience so the plugin should be significantly improved in the next update.

I’ll keep you posted.

Nice to know you’re back. I really liked the concept of your plugin that I chased up on your personal(or is it business) site and honestly you’re lucky I’m no in England caused I’ve come to pitch my tent outside your house.
Anyway, I had to ask, plead and employ tactics to get my brother to do a similar plugin.
Nice to hear you’ve got deeper experience and nice to see you back.
