[Plugin: FD Footnotes Plugin] Great plugin, but needs character option

Excellent, and I love the readability, but is there any way to change the characters used to cue the footnote? For instance, curly brackets instead of square ones. We use extensive footnotes, and square brackets are normal in citation.
