• I can’t find these files you list on the Description page:

feed-atom.php – Atom Feed Template for displaying Atom Posts feed.
feed-atom-comments.php – Atom Feed Template for displaying Atom Comments feed.
feed-rdf.php – RSS 1 RDF Feed Template for displaying RSS 1 Posts feed.
feed-rss.php – RSS 0.92 Feed Template for displaying RSS 0.92 Posts feed.
feed-rss2.php – RSS2 Feed Template for displaying RSS2 Posts feed.
feed-rss2-comments.php – RSS2 Feed Template for displaying RSS2 Comments feed.

If I could download them, I could put them in my theme. Is there a place to download them? They weren’t installed when I installed and activated it via WordPress plugins, and I can’t find those files via the plugins download link either…

  • You can copy the files from the wp-includes directory of your site.

I copied the 6 files from my ‘wp-includes’ directory to my theme directory. Now what? Nothing happened at all, that I can see.
    – /feed/ looks just the same as before
    – I can’t find any way to customize the feeds

In your WordPress dashboard go to Appearance -> Editor and make whatever changes you need.

You will probably be most interested in editing feed-rss2.php if it’s the RSS2 feed you want to make changes to.

So this plugin does nothing but allow you to edit the feeds using the Editor in WordPress. Then it’s a big waste of time. I can edit them just as easily using FTP without going to the trouble of using the plugin at all!

In addition, it isn’t going to be much use anyway unless you know enough about PHP to be ABLE to edit the feeds. I know some, but not enough to do what I wanted to do: use the META description of each post, instead of the excerpt.

    I was looking for a plugin that’s a little more user-friendly.
