    Hi!

Thank you for a great plugin! It’s easy to use and works nicely:)

One think I’m wondering. Google indexes all the plugin files. I’m not the only one. If searched for example term: wp-content/plugins/wp-google-maps/fonts/ we get quite a lot hits.

Is this something to be concerned about and can files be hidden from Google?

    Thank you!

  • Hi there

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

Please ensure that you have an htaccess rule added to your site to prevent your plugin files from being publicly visible.

Although this isn’t much of a concern, it generally isn’t recommended for these files to be made public to users.

    I hope this helps?

    Thank you for reply ??

Any other plugins that has been installed, won’t show on google…
…but other plugins are accessible with browser too though.

Don’t know the real cause to this behaviour but I prevented folder indexing all together adding “Options -Indexes” to htaccess.

Hopefully this is legit solution for the problem and Google loses the Wp Google Maps -plugin pages ??

Thank you for the great plugin!

    Hi @atdevep
I’ll look into this as well and make sure we fix the problem if the problem does in fact exist in our code. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and thank you for your kind words ??
