• Modified plugin file: wp-content/plugins/category-posts/js/admin/category-posts-widget.jsType: File
    • Modified plugin file: wp-content/plugins/category-posts/js/frontend/date.jsType: File

Both of these files are shown to have been modified, or the Github repo was modified without affecting an updated to the plugin, which is throwing these errors in the Wordfence scan.

Were there changes made to the repo that weren’t committed as a version change? Has the repo been hijacked? Are these plugins still safe?

We have only changed the tested WordPress version to the current version.
If you look at the changes in the files, you can see the changes. So there is no malicious code included;)

We hope to be able to provide a new version soon with a changed version number

It’s that the Github repo changed, albeit in a comment, but I’m always nervous that an abandoned repo has been taken over and redirected.

    Was: * https://github.com/DanielFloeter/category-posts-widget?
    Now: * https://github.com/tiptoppress/category-posts-widget

    Thanks for the speedy response!

Not much has been developed at the moment. We have therefore moved the repo and hope for more activity on the development side.

The developer who checks in to both repos, new and old, has remained the same.
