[Plugin: Flash Video Player] Plugin looks promising, but author and support site are MIA

  • I’d like to use the Flash Video Player plugin, and it seems to work in its default state. But all the documentation and customization links on the official WP download page are 404 errors, and the author hasn’t posted to the WP support forum in the 8 months since his last minor update. Anybody know what’s going on? In particular, did anyone save a copy of the Flash Player Complete Options file that’s linked to at https://mac-dev.net/blog/flash-video-player-plugin-customization/ ? Google has no record of it, and Archive.org has nothing since version 2.1 of the plugin, 30 months and 3 versions ago.

  • Drat, I’m having the same problem. McSteveM, did you figure out any customization tips?

    In particular, I’d like to figure out how to play multiple videos…I can figure out how to make it appear like a player, but I don’t know how to tell it which videos to insert after the first one.

    I’m also hoping to use it with a single video on the front page of my site and as a player on the media page, and as of now it seems to only be able to do one thing everywhere. (Likewise, the same front graphic shows before every video. It would be great to be able to put different graphics before different videos.)

    Julia: Alas, no. I couldn’t find anything complete, or more recent than early 2008. So I wound up switching to another plugin (Viper’s Video Quicktags) that handles a wider variety of video inputs with a fair amount of flexibility.
