Plugin for displaying "whats new"

I’ve done some googling but I can’t really figure out what the proper term for a plugin like this would be, therefore its difficult to search for it lol..

I’m looking for a plugin/widget that allows me to easily display whats been added to my site. Something in a nice organized fashion. For example “Added new photos to the gallery” type of stuff. Or “Changed prices for X and X”.

I was thinking a side bar would be cool, but if not I’d probably settle for something that sites at the top of the home page.

Anyone have any ideas?
