Plugin for user profile pages

I’m looking for a good plugin (free or paid) that would allow me to create accounts for my users and subsequently let them login and have their own profile page. On this, I’d like to be able to allow them to update things. Can anyone recommend some good plugins for this, or should I build it myself?
