• Hi there!

I am using this plugin to protect the site (in development) at peotexas.wpengine.com

The password I have set currently is “sisterhood”. The login page only works if I use the password “Sisterhood” with a capital first letter.

I have tried a couple different passwords to make sure I’m not crazy, setting the password in all lowercase, and in each case the login page simply refreshes when I use the (correct) all lowercase password, but successfully logs me into the site when I capitalize the first letter.

Please go to https://peotexas.wpengine.com and try

    sisterhood

    and

    Sisterhood

The first is the password I set. I need to be able to use all lowercase for the password.

    Thanks!!
    Torre

  • Hi Torre,

Please note as per the notice on the plugin’s www.ads-software.com page that Password Protected doesn’t work with WP Engine due to their caching setup.

    Kind regards

That’s such a bummer! They are the ones that recommended I use this plugin! I wonder what I will do now :/ Thanks!

    Ben,

Good news, WPEngine is happy to exclude a page or cookie or whatever needs to be excluded from their caching for the plugin to work. Would I just have them exclude

    https://[mysiteurl]/?password-protected=login&redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fpeotexas.wpengine.com%2F

    ?

    Thanks,
    Torre
