Plugin forcing noindex?
-
Not a web developer but reasonable knowledge of coding and good knowledge of this plugin (usually!)
I use Yoast on my own website and besides a few manageable glitches, everything runs fine. The site’s certainly indexed, anyway! A client of mine has just installed it on their website to help with their SEO, while I’ve been tasked with fixing their content and overseeing general SEO related updates.
I’ve been using a free checker to monitor my work. Yesterday everything was fine. Today it tells me it can’t find the site. I’ve had the host move the site to another server and still the same. The site is also now not registering on Google, when it was before, which suggests it’s not been indexed. I’ve checked everywhere, including the Header file, and I can’t see that anyone’s set noindex on the site.
Could this be Yoast related? I’ve noticed a few others complaining of indexing problems in the past but I’ve ignored them because it’s never been an issue for me! Totally baffled!
