[Plugin: Front-end Editor] Date not updating

  • Hi all, I am using this plugin and all looks good, except that when I edit the post, I want the date etc to change. I am planning to use the plugin for a client to edit the posts so they do not have to use the backend. Otherwise the post can be contantly updated, but the date and time of submission could in theory, be years out of date!

    Is there a way to resolve this? ??

  • Try the development version (1.7a).

    BAD idea! Use post_modified if you must, but please don’t update the original post date ?? Chronological datetime ordering for front/archive/search/etc is of utmost importance for us and a later manual (typo) edit doesn’t always imply the post itself should be bumped to the top again (which is what altering the post_date does)

    It turns out that post_modified was already being updated.

    Version 1.7.1 makes reseting the post_date optional.

    I am translating the new strings in 1.7.1. What exactly does “resetting” mean? If you reset a counter, it is set to zero.

    Is post_date really being reset or it is being updated?

    It’s being re-set to the current date.

    “Update the post date” didn’t sound quite right. ??
