[Plugin: Google Analyticator] Dashboard widget no longer authenticates

You don’t. As mentioned above the (great, cool, recommended it to all my friends) Google Analyticator plugin is done.

It’s a shame, but that’s the author’s decision. Time to say “Thanks Ronald Heft for all the hard work!” and move onto another one. ??

O wauw, what a great loss for the community. I loved this plugin.
But indeed, I fully understand and respect the wishes of the plugin-author. Thanks for your great work and all the best in the future.

Lets hope someone will pick up his opensource coding and proceed according to the new Google API.

I’m not entirely sure… I use Joost’s plugin for getclicky analytics and that does have a built in dashboard.

Give that GA one a try, I’ve never been dissatisfied with any plugin from Joost.

It sure would be nice ot have this functionality combined with the great features of Google analyticor. I sure hope Yoast takes this on – that would be a great addition to his plugin…

Most of the Google Analytics WordPress plugins that authenticate with Google need to have their API updated to the latest version. So Google Analyticator, Yoast’s plugin and Mailchimp 360 all need some modifications to authenticate correctly.

However, Google Analytics Dashboard has been updated to use the latest API

Perhaps someone could port his API calls to the Google Analyticator code?

Just wanted to add another vote for using Google Analytics Dashboard. I’ve installed it and authenticated it, and unchecked “Google Analytics Summary”. I’ve now got the dashboard from the new plugin, with all the data collection still handled fine by the original one.
As an aside, having the analytics data next to each post in the post list in admin is a great feature.

Heft is being pretty vague, but he’s posted a couple comments on that “Goodbye” article implying that an update is coming.

Hopefully what he’s getting at is that someone contacted him and promised to have an update to use the new API by the 10th. I’m crossing my fingers to not have to find another plugin that does all these things.
