• I was using this plugin, and it was working fine, so I was adding it to another blog I have as well and when I tried to log in to the plugin so it could connect (Google’s OAuth log in on the settings page) I got this error:

Protocol https not supported or disabled in libcurl

so I went to my other blog and found it too wasn’t working (it went down sometime in the last week) and the dashboard widget has this error

Error gathering analytics data from Google: Protocol https not supported or disabled in libcurlError gathering analytics data from Google: Protocol https not supported or disabled in libcurlError gathering analytics data from Google: Protocol https not supported or disabled in libcurlError gathering analytics data from Google: Protocol https not supported or disabled in libcurlError gathering analytics data from Google: Protocol https not supported or disabled in libcurlCould not gather Google Analytics data.

Any help? I saw this support ticket https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/plugin-google-analytics-dashboard-add-https-support-to-the-dashboard-widget?replies=1 and wondered if doing that would fix it for me? Not that I know exactly what he did.

ok I figured out how to do what that linked above support ticket said worked for them and it didn’t fix my issue. Any more ideas?

This is probably something the hosting company you are using has changed. You should contact them and ask them if they have disabled SSL support in libcurl under PHP. They may have done it for some security reason.
