• How do I get my wordpress backup from this plugin to back up to a folder in my google drive? They all just go to the root directory. I’ve got ‘backup’ entered in the folder path, but then it just saves the backup when I click ‘move’ to my root directory with a name such as ‘Backups_1349110039’.

It should allow me to enter a folder where I can have all my backups saved to, and not the root directory. Also, why does it not backup automatically like another version I have used with dropbox has.

  • Concur again.

You must insert the folder ID, which is this part of the url:
    https://drive.google.com/#folders/0B7RTV3vByAbQRlJMUWdIbUR6WXc

    folder id = 0B7RTV3vByAbQRlJMUWdIbUR6WXc

Thanks, where in the instructions is this documented. The field clearly says “Enter the Backup Folder Name”… not “Enter the Backup Folder ID”

    Can you see the confusion?

So, how do you do a folder and a file name?

Using your example folder name do you enter

    0B7RTV3vByAbQRlJMUWdIbUR6WXc/website-name

into the text box to get a backup file saved into the folder

    0B7RTV3vByAbQRlJMUWdIbUR6WXc

    with the filename

    website-name_timestamp.zip ?

This doesn’t work for me. Any idea what will?

In fact even entering the Google folder ID into the “Enter the Backup Folder Name:” field as the author suggests does not create the file in the folder required but instead appends the folder ID to the file name with the file sill being created in the root of Google Drive.

This is almost a really good plugin. If a few loose ends were sorted out and clear instructions included it’d be great.
